so this will be quite off-topic, I’ll be back to berty post after spilling my guts here, I promise

and this will be spoilery for like a lot of shit, but all most of these shows are long gone anyway so w/e

I just need to WHINE about how often, how most of the time gay couples on tv just get fucking shitty ending to their story.

this is JP and Craig, from the show Hollyoaks. I watched those two like a creep back in the beginning of high school, like 5 or 6 years ago I think.

talk about angst here. they made them go through so.much.shit. homophobia, closet cases, community turning their backs on them, jfc. it went on for so long, barely a few happier moments with them, and then Craig moved out anyway.

then JP had Kieron, who was actually healthy for him (at least after the initial drama), and Kieron got murdered.

JP didnt end up alone, I’ll give them that, bc Craig showed up bit before Kieron died, and JP fucking left with him soon after, it was so moronic - Craig came for a visit, they fucked, JP left with him & people called that “sunset ending” when in fact it was utter fuckery, Craig made JP go through hell and they never resolved it, they just left the show “together”. amazing way to show a gay relationship. not.

this is Deniz and Roman from AWZ. years of being on and off, lots of cheating lies, Deniz leaving Roman for a girl.. well again angsty as fuck, and when they were getting a bit better, like the cheating stopped at least, yay, ekhm, Roman died.
(not long after that Deniz fell for a girl.. they killed the only gay couple on that show and made the remaining star end up with a woman. again, amazing portrayal of a gay couple. not)

Jack and Ianto from Torchwood.

shit, shit, angst, ~open relationship, finally Jack was committing, so.. they kill Ianto. Jack goes on to pick up random people, Ianto get mentioned briefly after, a few times.. yay for that *sarcasm*

Luke and Reid from ATWT! ah Lure, they were awesome together, once Luke got over his ex Noah, who went from being a sweetheart before Reid was in the picture to somehow being a complete asshole.. anyway, lure was going steady, Reid even managed to say ILU.. before he died. in the most ridiculous shitty-written accident ever. tho he did manage to leave his heart to the lying idiot with heart problems that he caused himself by acting like a 12y old, but hey that idiot was in a str8 relationship, we can’t kill off that one, can we.

Kevin & Yann, Les Bleus: 3 seasons of being all over the place, then boys finally move in together etc and suddenly, after all the shit they went through, mostly Kevin who was oh so in love.. Kevin decided he had enough, breaks it off, leaves the city to be with some hook-up. storyline ends, just like that, blink and u miss the complete change in Kevin o__0

Dante’s cove.. similar fuckery, seasons of angsty relationship stuff just for one of the guys to go meh, I’ll be with another guy. i actually dont even know how all that ended because i fucking gave up.

the Lair: did anyway manage to stick through that shitty acting to see if it ended as badly as i think it did?

Greek: ended badly, guy just left right? who needs happy endings.

True Blood: let’s kill Godric, the one who actually has a heart and can love etc, what a brilliant idea.

OZ: lol that was so dysfunctional I can’t begin to even.

remember Andrew from Desperate Housewives? he left his 1st bf just like that. and lately he and his husband just broke up and they left the story hanging! /o\

even fucking QUEER AS FOLK made us go through 5 seasons of ups and downs, and just, JUST when they were about to get married, Justin fucking leaves.
and not like the 5 seasons presented a healthy relationship, maybe with Mike/Ben. maybe.

(sure in my head they meet again and live happily ever after, but on the show it ends with one big FUCK YOU fans, here goes nothing. have you seen the deleted scene at the very end of 5x13? if they didnt deleted that i think id have fucking sent them hate mail)

there is also Christian and Syed from Eastenders, and fuck knows if they are on right now or off, but their relationship should have ended like a year ago, with Chris fucking moving on, not dysfunctionally  going after a guy who lies, lies, MARRIES A WOMAN, lies some more, finds out he has a kid, LIES MORE and ughh. they made Christian look so.pathetic. I just can’t.

I’m sure there are more i forgot, or for example no idea what the end game with Chrolli is, as they are back together now, since maybe a month (after Christian cheater with a woman, dun-dun-dun-dun) but who knows what will happen.

and pretty much everyone knows that like 95% of gay themed movies are super sad/end badly or they are some dumbass comedies, american pie style or sth.

anyway.. my fucking point is, how about you show us a relationship that WORKS OUT?!

only exception to the rule I can think of rn is Kevin & Scotty from B&S♥, the only realistic gay couple on a tv show. oh and Six Feet Under has a ~happy ending with the guys, of course after years of angst and Keith (dun-dun-dun-dun) cheating with a woman.. /o\

but most of the time the moral to every gay story that people get shown on tv is : someone will die, cheat with a woman or suddenly leave, deal with it. and most gay relationships are fucked up and unhealthy.

no happy story for you gay people, no we can’t have that..

dear Klainers, I sure hope Klaine is another exception, but with the tv’s track record and how fucked up the writing on Glee is, I wouldn’t hope for much.

/rant over. THIS IS WHY WE NEED SO MUCH FANFICTION, we’d be all depressed and abandon hope otherwise. fucking tv.
